I forgot to post an update from the last two days, but it’s just as well as I only irked out some 500 words yesterday because I was sick.

As in the past background on NaNoWriMo and my novel-in-progress is here as well as the first excerpt. Other excerpt updates can be found here - two and three.

Brittany flashed the OK sign to Sophia as she winked before Sophia turned to leave and make her way back to Finn who was entertaining a toddler with a red balloon who had become convinced he was some sort of amusement attraction. He spotted Sophia’s approach and smiled her way before turning his attention back to the child.

“Alright there young lady. I’ve very much liked meeting your acquaintance, however I must now entertain this young lady.”

Finn stood up as he sent the young girl back to her mother who apologized profusely for the interruption.

“It’s not hard to see why you’re so popular,” Sophia teased playfully. Finn smiled in response.

“Ladies are charming at every age, so when they ask for entertainment, it’s not difficult to give it.” Finn paused for a moment as he took on a more serious tone.

“Is your friend not joining us?”

“Brittany? No she’s still standing in line and it looks like it will take a while for her to get some food. She asked that we just go on without her and will meet up with us later.”

“Oh, all right then. So where is this lake?”

“This way, I’ll show you.”

Finn extended his arm and once again Sophia took it as they ventured off towards the amusement park rides on their way to the edge of the park.
